How Much Does It Cost?  This depends on the type of case and how much time is involved. All Chapter 7 cases pay a court filing fee of $299.00. All Chapter 13 cases pay a court filing fee of $274.00. In most cases, I do not charge an initial consultation fee. At that time the total amount of the fees can usually be determined. What Do I Need To Bring To The Initial Consultation?  This depends on how much is involved in the particular situation. To speed the process up and to get a better idea of your current situation it is most beneficial to print the Worksheets off of this website, complete them and bring them with you. If that is not possible then bring (1) a list of all creditors, and (2) Pay-stubs, L.E.S., etc., or if you are self employed, copies of profit and loss statements showing current income and expenses, (3) any paperwork that you may have specific questions about and (4) any garnishments, bank levies, notices of default, foreclosure's, judgement's, etc.

How Are The Creditors Notified?  About (7) to (14) days after the case is filed a notice will be sent to you, the creditors and myself. The notice will include the date, time, and location of the hearing. It will also have my name, address, and telephone number on it so the creditors can contact me.

Do I Have To Attend The Hearing?  Yes, there is a required hearing about four to five weeks after the case is filed. The main purpose of the hearing in most cases is to confirm the information filed is correct.

Where Do These Hearings Take Place?  The hearings for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 cases are in different places. Please contact us for locations and directions.
